What is Cambodian Hair?

At times, it can be difficult choosing the best hair texture for yourself considering the number of hair types that exist in today’s market. In this article, we will talk about the latest new obsession, which has also become a popular choice for many women. Drumroll… Cambodian human hair extensions.

What is Cambodian Hair

Heard of it yet? Cambodian hair is ethically sourced hair collected from Cambodian donors. This hair type comes in three main textures, namely straight, wavy and curly. It is naturally and lusciously gorgeous. At the same time, it is incredibly lightweight. Additionally, Cambodian hair is slightly coarse in nature and holds up very well to styling. Equally, it withstands more heat than most hair types. It can also hold a curl well and can withstand dyes and coloring without much damage to the quality of the hair. Another fact… it blends well with relaxed/pressed African American women hair.

Features of Cambodian Hair

1. Healthy Cuticles
Cambodian hair is collected from a hair donor, and it has never been processed or chemically treated. Its cuticles are usually intact and naturally aligned in the same direction which reduces the risk of matting and tangling.

2. Natural Color
Cambodian hair, in particular, has a genuine natural color which is a milder shade of black. Vendors call this Color 1b or off black. Sometimes it can come in a softer shade of black called color 2.

3. Coloring And Bleaching
This particular hair type is the best when it comes to coloring and bleaching. Cambodian hair takes to bleaching and/or coloring very well but, however, we strongly advised that it should be done by a professional, using good quality coloring materials.

Maintenance for Cambodian Hair

Below is a list on how to take care of Cambodian hair extensions:

  • Wash with shampoo properly
  • Style it with heating tools
  • Use a silk tower to wrap the hair or tie the hair in a low ponytail when sleeping. Don’t sleep with the hair still wet.
  • After swimming or taking part in outdoor activities, wash the hair immediately to remove any dirt and sweat. Remember to wear a swim cap to protect your hair as the chlorine in the swimming pool can dry out your hair extensions quickly.
